Good question, Matthew Carson:
“Has anyone had practical experience with any of these? Which one(s) have a large enough community to make it worth a designer’s time?”
Maybe test them out and let us know!

Can anybody tell me his experience on posting his resume on one of these designer communities? Did a decent client knocked at your door after seeing your online work? Is it really worth it or it’s just a matter of being there because it’s better than not being?

Woah – MAJOR omission is Behance Network http://behance.net – more traffic than all of them combined (more exposure for your work) – and the only one connected to LinkedIn and AIGA.
