Be Inspired! (By Everything) 03
Craig Baldwin is a recently graduated graphic design student at the Winchester School of Art with a keen interest in print and publishing as well as blogging and web design.
This is the third edition of Be Inspired and I hope you’re enjoying these posts as much as I am finding all this great work. Each day I check my inspiration feeds for the latest and greatest design, illustration and much more. I get through about 200 items each day from FFFFound, Design You Trust, Graphic Exchange and many more. If you feel you have some great work to share then feel free to email me; craigsbaldwin [at] gmail [dot] com.
Just a slight clarification, the title above each piece of work uses this format – [studio]: [client].
Attack: Ghetto Film School

It’s not just the work I like here, it’s the presentation of it as well, really strong black and white theme with excellent use of white space really loving the strength of this work.
Design By Praline: Richard + Rogers Architects Book

You’ve probably guessed by now how much I love print based work, especially books with lovely typography and colour choices, this is a brilliant example featuringĀ gate foldsĀ and a whole host of attributes that I think make print so strong.
Lori Nix Photography

These curious photos are not just taken out in the wilds and the city; they’re meticulously crafted models that aim to “bend the line between truth and illusion” and achieve a pretty good job of it.
Darren Firth: Blast’d Stationery

Something so simple, yet so lovely. Coloured foils printed on various colour stocks of Colourplan from GF Smith make this stationary for a blog focusing on upcoming bands certainly have a beautiful tone of voice.
BBDO Canada: Smart

It’s so small it can be locked up like a bike, might draw a bit of attention to the fact that Smart cars are also one of the most stolen (apparently). Still it’s quite adorable.
Artiva Design: P. Soleri DVD

Well I don’t understand Italian (luckily their website is in English) but this design is definitely universally understandable. Seems to be theme in this collection so far, either black and white and/or strong simple typography.
Peter & Paul: Jefferson Sheard Architects

More vibrant colours and strong, this time blocky, typography. What sets this blocky type apart from others is the way it was used in the launch event and invitation to create an interconnecting 3D installation which people could add to, see site to see what I mean.
Cours Toujours: Animation
Love the art direction of this short animation, definitely give it a watch, try it in HD on Vimeo for the full vector beauty.
